General Background Islamic banking demonstrates steady institutional expansion across Indonesia, yet national financial inclusion and asset utilization metrics consistently lag behind conventional counterparts. Specific Background Although market potential remains extensive, public interest in adopting Islamic banking products does not scale proportionally with general sector growth. Knowledge Gap Prior academic literature predominantly evaluates corporate performance or treats financial literacy as an independent factor, leaving the moderating mechanism of Islamic financial literacy on internal intellectual assets underexplored. Aims This study investigates the effects of intellectual capital and knowledge management on customer intention to use Islamic banking products, incorporating Islamic financial literacy as a moderating variable within Bank Syariah Indonesia in East Java. Results Multiple linear regression and moderated regression analysis on 100 respondents indicate that intellectual capital and knowledge management positively drive product adoption intention, where financial literacy successfully moderates knowledge management but shows no moderating effect on intellectual capital. Novelty This empirical work integrates internal knowledge-based view components with customer-side literacy moderation specifically targeting regional Islamic banking consumer bases. Implications Financial institutions must simultaneously optimize organizational knowledge assets and cultivate targeted consumer financial literacy to effectively convert market potential into actual product utilization.
Key Findings Highlights
- Intellectual capital significantly drives customer intention to utilize Islamic banking products.
- Knowledge management positively contributes to product adoption preferences among regional banking customers.
- Islamic financial literacy moderates the relationship between knowledge management and consumer intention.
